What metadata gets removed
- Images: EXIF (including GPS coordinates, camera make/model, and date taken), XMP, IPTC, and embedded comments.
- PDFs: document properties (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, and producing software) and XMP metadata.
For JPG and PNG the image itself is copied untouched — only the metadata is stripped, so there’s no quality loss.

The biggest risk is location: a photo taken on a phone often embeds the exact GPS coordinates of where it was shot. Post it online and you may be sharing your home address without realising. Removing metadata before uploading to social media, marketplaces, or forums protects your privacy.

Does removing EXIF change my photo’s quality?
No. For JPG and PNG the tool removes only the metadata segments and copies the image data byte-for-byte, so the picture is identical — just without the hidden data.
Does it remove GPS location from photos?
Yes. GPS coordinates are stored in the EXIF block, which this tool strips completely along with the rest of the EXIF data.
Can it clean PDFs too?
